Today, Mrs Whitmore had the pleasure of taking some of our Y6 ambassadors to the Dougie Mac Dementia Centre to spend time with the residents 💙

A flying visit… 🐝
Today, a swarm of bees paid us a little visit, settling on our water area 💧 in our Early Years outdoor area.
So, in came this wonderful gentleman who safely removed the swarm of bees. 🐝 🍯
And what a day for it as it’s World Bee Day too! 🐝
*This caused no risk to any of the children as the area was closed down immediately. All gate access will resume as normal tomorrow.

‼️ Due to health and safety reasons, this gate from the KS1 playground to the EYFS area will be closed this afternoon and there will be no access through.
If you are collecting your child from nursery or Reception, please enter via the nursery side gate from the rear entrance of the school.
Reception parents & carers - Buttercups and Bluebells will be released from the nursery doors this afternoon at 3:15pm. Staff will be on hand to show you which door.

Year 6 have been very lucky this afternoon to have had the opportunity to take part in two workshops: road safety 🛣 and crazy courses 👨🎓👩🎓
In our first session, the children thought about their journeys to high school next year and how this might be different from their current journey. We discussed what distractions there may be on the journey to school, how to successfully plan a safe route and things to pack in our bags to keep us safe when travelling 🚲🚗🚍🚶🎒 The children have brought home a booklet with some key questions to think about over the coming months in preparation for high school. 💭
The second session was part of our learning with The Children's University. We learnt that there are more than 50,000 courses available to study at university, and some courses can open up many varying job opportunities. The children learnt about some jobs and courses that they had never heard of before, and they even designed their own university course! 📚📒✏️

Stoke 100 Club ❤️ 🤍 💙
Today, we discussed all of the events that we have planned for Stoke 100.
The children then used different methods to decorate bunting. Some children chose to collage their bunting with things that represent Stoke-on-Trent. We also had some super drawings on our bunting as well. ✍🏼
