At Eaton Park Academy, we’re committed to preparing our students for success in an increasingly digital world. Every KS2 pupil is equipped with their own digital device, ensuring a 1:1 ratio of devices to students. Our selected devices (Surface Go’s and Google Chromebooks), provide versatility and functionality to enhance the learning experience.
As a trust pilot for the integration of digital devices across Key Stage 2, we’re committed to shaping the future of learning through technology. Our primary aim is to enrich teaching and learning, enabling pupils to access areas of the curriculum in new and exciting ways. By incorporating digital devices into our educational framework, we aim to provide an engaging and dynamic learning environment that fosters creativity and critical thinking skills.
The implementation of our digital initiative has been strategic and progressive. We began by introducing digital devices within specific subjects, allowing children to familiarize themselves with our online platform, Showbie, to upload and access work. As students grew more confident, we expanded our usage to encompass the vast majority of our afternoon wider curriculum subjects, seamlessly integrating technology into every aspect of learning. Additionally, our digital devices now support morning lessons of Guided Reading, Spelling, Maths, and English, providing students with enhanced opportunities for interactive learning and collaboration.
In our classrooms at Eaton Park Academy, we leverage a range of cutting-edge apps to enhance learning experiences. Showbie serves as our primary platform for drafting work and accessing resources on a day-to-day basis, providing students with seamless access to educational materials and facilitating efficient communication between teachers and pupils. For mastering times tables, we utilize TTRockstars, an engaging and interactive app that makes learning multiplication facts fun and engaging. Additionally, we’ve integrated Whiteboard.fi into our daily routine, replacing physical whiteboards with a digital alternative that allows for real-time collaboration and interaction during lessons.
Furthermore, at Eaton Park Academy, we believe in nurturing digital leadership among our students. Hence, each class in the school is supported by a student digital literacy leader. These young leaders are enthusiastic and tech-savvy individuals who are on call to assist with any digital issues that may arise during class. They play a vital role in fostering a supportive and collaborative digital learning environment, working closely with our digital leads, including Mrs. Bell, Mr. Brown, and Mr. Williams, to share their insights and ideas on how we can continuously improve digital life within the school. By empowering students to take ownership of their digital learning journey, we instill valuable leadership skills and promote a culture of innovation and teamwork across our school community.
Join us as we continue to innovate and inspire through the transformative power of technology in education.

Throughout our lessons at Eaton Park Academy, the devices allow us to: better draft our work, become more confident mathematicians and use scaffolds to support our independent learning. – Libby Year 5
It removes limits to our learning, enabling us to write or plan, while removing barriers. We can also use scaffolds on our devices to help us. – Alfie Year 6
It will help us when we are older: every job requires you to use a keyboard and type. The devices enable us to improve these skills and it’s much quicker than writing. – Naoith Year 5
It helps sustainability in our school, we don’t have to print or stick in, which not only helps the environment, but also helps with the speed in which we can get onto our work. – Holly Year 6
